Why use Scran?
Scran works in partnership with over 300 cultural institutions in Scotland and the rest of the UK. This learning resource service hosts 360,000 images, movies and podcasts from museums, galleries, archives and the media. How To Use Scran:
The following provides a quick start guide:
1. Go to Scran's website:
2. Whilst at University you will be automatically logged into Scran. However, whilst outwith University you can use your University username and password to access Scran. The login option can be located at the right-hand side of the screen, The following image is how this will look whilst at University:
3. Use the Navigation Menu to find Pathfinder Packs, under resources, and Subject Topics.
4. When you search topics, using the search tool at the top of the page, a range of different types of resources will be shown: images, podcasts, videos and pathfinders. The pathfinders are collections of Scran records specifically selected to illustrate a particular topic.
